I’ll be teaching two different classes at Whispering Woodlands (Verona, WI) April 18 and 19, 2015
Saturday, April 18th: “Color Mixing”. We’ll use 6 basic colors plus white. If you’ve ever wished to explore color mixing, this class is for you! The colors we will use constitute my basic palette. Class is full.
Sunday, April 19th: “100 Starts”. We’ll start as many paintings as we can, maybe not 100 but a minimum of 20. We’ll spend 10 minutes or less on each painting. We will distill the essence of a scene into as few colors and as few strokes as we can.
And another plein air class in June: Sat June 6, 9 – 4 Plein Air Painting in Oils for Beginning & Intermediate oil painters – In this workshop I will show you two different methods of approaching plein air painting. We will use one for a morning painting and one for an afternoon painting. For outdoor painting I generally use a limited palette of colors. I will show you how I manage my palette, what paint colors I use and how to mix colors using 7 tubes of paint (see supply list below). We’ll talk about placement, shadows, lighting, painting to finish and clean up. Class is full.
Syttende Mai in Stoughton – Friday, May 15; Saturday, May 16; Sunday, May 17th – the rosemaling exhibition will be at the Fire Station, 401 E Main Street.
